AION 2 Player Count: Live Steam Players and Launch Stats

What the AION 2 player count means

It is a count of people in the game at one moment, not of everyone who plays. It changes through the day as players in each region log on and off.

• Steam only. Steam and PURPLE players share the same servers, NC says, so the people you meet in the game include PURPLE players this number leaves out.
• Not NC's numbers. NC's own figures below come from its posts and are counted NC's way, which may include PURPLE players.
• Not an estimate. The number is Steam's own; we only read it and show it.

AION 2 launch stats from NC

NC has posted its own player numbers twice. On launch day, October 5, 2026, its post on the AION 2 Steam page marked two milestones, each with a gift for every player (table below). On October 8, 2026, NC's official X account thanked players for more than 400,000 concurrent users and said AION 2 had reached No. 1 on Steam's Global Top Sellers.

The two posts use different words for the figure (active users on October 5, 2026, concurrent users on October 8, 2026), and neither says whether PURPLE players are included. The Steam count above covers Steam only, so it cannot be compared directly with NC's figures.

Busy servers and queues

A high count shows up in the game as full servers and queues. NC has kept opening new servers since launch: see every server in your region on the AION 2 server list. Players who want to move a character can use the free AION 2 server transfer from October 13 to 27, 2026. When a server is full, NC puts Membership holders in a priority queue; the rest of what Membership includes is on the AION 2 subscription page.

Where the number comes from

Steam publishes how many people are playing each game through its public Web API (GetNumberOfCurrentPlayers). Our server asks Steam for AION 2's number at most once every 5 minutes and passes it on unchanged. The page itself also carries the reading from our last site update, so it still shows a number if the live one cannot load.

AION 2 player count FAQ

How many people are playing AION 2 right now?

At our last reading, October 12, 2026 at 15:43 UTC, 335,335 people were playing AION 2 on Steam. The count at the top of this page is read again every 5 minutes.

Does the AION 2 player count include PURPLE players?

No. Steam only counts people who start AION 2 through Steam. Players on NC's PURPLE launcher play on the same servers but are not in this number, so the real total is higher.
