How AION 2 servers work

• When you start the game you choose a region first, then a faction, then a server in that region.
• Each server holds one faction only, and each Elyos server has one Asmodian partner server.
• Players from the other faction that you meet in the Abyss, Spacetime Rifts and other cross-faction modes come from your paired server.
• NC updates the pairings from time to time to keep the factions balanced.
• All instanced content, dungeons included, is cross-server.

Servers in each region

NC's FAQ names the server locations as North America, South America, Europe and Japan; the in-game region list says NA East, NA West, Latin America, Europe and Asia.

The same server names appear in several regions (Siel, Kaisinel and others), but each region runs its own servers, so check the region as well as the name.

Picking a server

Your server decides who you meet in the open world and which server of the other faction you fight in the Abyss. NC has kept adding servers since launch (Nathara and Tassin in Europe on October 8, Hithanya and Nemon in NA East on October 9) and encourages players to join new servers as they open.

Already on a crowded server? Free AION 2 server transfers run from October 13 to 27, 2026, within the same region and faction. If you are still choosing a faction and class, start with the eight AION 2 classes.

AION 2 server FAQ

What server regions does AION 2 have?

Five: Europe, NA East, NA West, Latin America and Asia. NC's FAQ describes the server locations as North America, South America, Europe and Japan.

Are Elyos and Asmodians on the same server in AION 2?

No. Each server holds one faction, and each Elyos server has one Asmodian partner server. The players you fight in the Abyss, Spacetime Rifts and other cross-faction modes come from your partner server.

Do AION 2 server pairings change?

Yes. NC says it updates the pairings from time to time to keep the two factions balanced, so the server you face today can change later.

Can I play dungeons with friends on other servers?

Yes. NC says all instanced content, dungeons included, is cross-server. To share the open world with friends, you need the same server.

What is the difference between Advanced Access and Launch servers?

Advanced Access servers opened on September 30, 2026 for Founder's Pack owners; Launch servers opened with the global launch on October 5. Both are still running, each with its own list per region.
