AION 2 FAQ: Answers for the Global Version

Is AION 2 free to play?

Yes. The global version of AION 2 is free to play with no purchase needed. NC sells an optional Membership, listed at $15 a month in its July 8, 2026 business model update, which you need to trade on the Market and use the Kina and Quna Exchange.

When did AION 2 come out globally?

AION 2 launched worldwide on October 5, 2026 at 6 AM PDT (13:00 UTC). Founder's Pack owners could already play from September 30 on separate Advanced Access servers.

How many classes does AION 2 have?

Eight: Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Ranger, Chanter, Cleric, Sorcerer and Spiritmaster, in the order NC lists them on its official site.

What weapon does each AION 2 class use?

Each class has its own weapon type, and NC's item data lets only that class equip it. Gladiator: greatsword; Templar: longsword; Assassin: dagger; Ranger: bow; Chanter: staff; Cleric: mace; Sorcerer: spellbook; Spiritmaster: orb. Every class can also equip a Guard in the off-hand slot.

Are any AION 2 classes gender-locked?

No. In NC's character data every class can be male or female, as an Elyos or an Asmodian: eight classes, two factions and two genders make 32 combinations, and NC's data lists all 32 for the global version.

What platforms is AION 2 on?

Windows PC, through Steam or NC's PURPLE launcher. The game is the same on both, and Steam and PURPLE players share the same servers.

Is AION 2 on mobile or console?

Not the global version. NC says it is available on Steam and PURPLE, and it only officially supports Windows PC.

Do I need a PURPLE account to play on Steam?

No. A Steam account is enough to play. Linking a PURPLE account is optional and only matters if you want the same characters and progress on both.

Can you play AION 2 with a controller?

Yes, the game is playable with a controller, but NC does not officially support controllers.

Does AION 2 work on Steam Deck or Linux?

It is not officially supported. NC only supports Steam and PURPLE on Windows PC, although it says the game may be playable on other devices.

What languages does AION 2 support?

Voice acting comes in English, Japanese and Korean. Menus and subtitles come in English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Japanese and Korean. You switch language in Settings, under the language tab.

Which server regions does AION 2 have?

The game lists five regions: NA East, NA West, Latin America, Europe and Asia. NC's FAQ names the server locations as North America, South America, Europe and Japan.

Can Elyos and Asmodians play on the same server?

No. Each server holds one faction, and each Elyos server has one Asmodian partner server. You meet the other faction from your partner server in the Abyss, Spacetime Rifts and other cross-faction modes.

Can I transfer my character to another server?

Yes. Free server transfers run from October 13 to October 27, 2026: the first week for Early Access servers, the second for Launch servers. You can only move within the same region and faction, once per account.

Does progress from the Korean or Taiwanese version carry over?

No. Progress from the Korean or Taiwanese versions of AION 2 does not carry over to the global version.

Can you play AION 2 solo?

Yes. NC says you can play AION 2 alone or together with friends, and its dungeons range from solo challenges to 5-player and 10-player group content.

How many dungeons are in AION 2?

NC says there are over 200 dungeons, split into solo challenges, 5-player party content and 10-player group dungeons.
