How the Shugo Festival works

  • A round starts every hour at :00, in every time zone. Sign-up stays open for 3 minutes; then the round runs for 2:55 to 5:00 minutes, depending on the minigame.
  • One minigame is drawn for each round, so the game changes every hour.
  • Taking part is free. Everyone who plays gets a reward, with more for a better rank.
  • Half an hour later, at :30, comes the Dimensional Invasion, an open-world defense event with the same 3-minute entry.

How to unlock the Shugo Festival

The festival opens from around level 10, once you finish a quest in Verteron and Altgard: Visions in Smoke on the Elyos side. The Asmodian quest is probably Urgent Pursuit (not confirmed yet). After that, a Shugo icon next to the minimap shows the timer; click it to sign up while the 3 minutes are running.

Shugo Festival Reward Keys

You get 3 Reward Keys a day, added at 07:00 UTC (the daily reset), and can save up to 12, or 21 with a Membership. Keys stop piling up at the cap, so spend them before they overflow. With no keys left you can still play for the common reward.

Shugo Festival rewards

Everyone who takes part gets a common package of Centuryroot Tokens, Enhance Stones and gear, plus extra rewards by rank. Higher brackets add Soul Codex (Bound), Abyss Points and a chance at a Resurrection Spiritstone.

Spending a Reward Key opens a second, bigger package on top: more Enhance Stones, Soul Codex, Abyss Points and Unique or Epic gear in the top brackets.

Rewards follow your level, in 9 brackets: 10–15, 16–20, 21–25, 26–30, 31–35, 36–40, 41–44, 45–49, 50. Centuryroot Tokens buy items in the Festival Shop: Main Menu, then Shugo Festival.

The other hourly events

The Shugo Festival is one of several timed events. The AION 2 timers page counts down to the Spacetime Rift, the Artifact Siege and the daily and weekly resets, and the AION 2 world boss timer tracks the field bosses.

How we checked this

NC has not published the festival's rules. The hourly start and the 3-minute entry match our timers page. Checked on October 24, 2026.
