Is there a new class in AION 2?
Yes, but only in Korea so far. NC first showed the Brawler at its Summer Festa event (press release of June 17, 2026) and added it to the Korean version on July 1, 2026, in the first big content update, Chapter 1. Lands of Sand and Snow. In Korean the class is called 권성. That makes nine classes in Korea and 8 in the global version.
What NC says about the Brawler
- Fights with the Gauntlets, a weapon made for the Brawler alone.
- Built for the front line: it hits what is in front of it and closes in with charging combos.
- Uses Rage: basic attacks and active skills build it up, and a full Rage gauge sends the Brawler into Rampage.
- To mark its arrival, NC gave every player in the Korean version one extra character slot for free.
The same Korean update raised the level cap to 50 and let Stigma skills go up to level 25. NC has not published the Brawler's skill list in English yet, so we do not list skills here.
When does the Brawler come to the global version?
NC has not said. The global version opened on October 5, 2026 with the 8 classes listed below, and NC's own class list for it (the data behind its Character Info pages) still had 8 on October 24, 2026. None of NC's global announcements so far mention the Brawler. When NC gives a date, it goes on our AION 2 news and patch notes page the same day, and this page changes with it. Korea's timeline next to the global one, and what came with the class there, are on the AION 2 Brawler release date page.
Is Slayer a new AION 2 class?
No. NC has never announced a class called Slayer, and we only list classes NC itself has announced. Slayer is not another name for the new class either: NC's English announcement of the update calls it the Brawler, and its Korean one calls it 권성; neither uses Slayer. So if Slayer is the new class you heard about, the class NC actually added is the AION 2 Brawler, in the Korean version since July 1, 2026.
Is Sword Saint a new AION 2 class?
No. Sword Saint is what some translated Korean guides call the AION 2 Gladiator: its Korean name is 검성. It is one of the 8 classes you can already play in the global version, where NC only calls it the Gladiator.

The 8 classes you can play in the global version now
- AION 2 Gladiator: front-line fighter with a giant blade.
- AION 2 Templar: shield guardian who holds the line.
- AION 2 Assassin: silent striker from the shadows.
- AION 2 Ranger: patient hunter who wins with one shot.
- AION 2 Chanter: blesses and protects allies.
- AION 2 Cleric: healer who keeps allies alive.
- AION 2 Sorcerer: arcane storms that wipe out enemies.
- AION 2 Spiritmaster: commands spirits and elemental power.
Each class has a weapon only it can use; the AION 2 weapons by class page lists them, with what level-45 players really carry. To pick one, try the class picker in our AION 2 classes overview. Already picked? Every class has a level-45 build with the skills to max and its four Stigmas, like the Templar build for AION 2; the rest are in AION 2 builds for every class.
AION 2 new class FAQ
- Is there a new class in AION 2?
- Yes, in the Korean version: the Brawler (권성 in Korean) arrived there on July 1, 2026 with the Chapter 1. Lands of Sand and Snow update. The global version launched on October 5, 2026 with 8 classes, and NC has not said when the Brawler will join them.
- When does the Brawler come to the global version of AION 2?
- NC has not given a date. As of October 24, 2026, NC's own class list for the global version still has 8 classes, and none of NC's global announcements mention the Brawler.
- What weapon does the Brawler use?
- Gauntlets, a weapon only the Brawler uses. NC describes a front-line fighter that charges in with combos and builds Rage until it enters a Rampage state.
- Is Sword Saint a new class in AION 2?
- No. Sword Saint is a translation of 검성, the Korean name of the Gladiator, one of the 8 classes in the global version.
- Is Slayer a new class in AION 2?
- No, and Slayer is not another name NC uses for the Brawler either. NC's English and Korean announcements name the new class the Brawler (권성 in Korean) and never say Slayer. If Slayer is the new class you heard about, the class NC actually added is the Brawler.
