1. Is it a maintenance or an outage?
NC takes the game servers down for a weekly maintenance late on Tuesday night Pacific time (Wednesday morning in Europe), for about 4 hours, and now and then for a short fix. NC says the game login is unavailable while it runs. The latest ones are listed below and on our news page.

2. Is your account locked or restricted?
- A temporary security lock on your account. NC locks some accounts for a while when someone logs in from a device or connection that looks risky, such as a possible account takeover. NC says this is not a penalty: contact Customer Support to get access back.
- An account restriction. NC posts each wave of account restrictions for bots, gold farming, unauthorized programs and real-money trading. If yours was restricted by mistake, open a ticket with Customer Support; NC says it reviews each one.
- The wrong account linked. Linking your game to a different NC account, for example for Twitch Drops, can leave you unable to reach your character. Check which account is linked on NC's website under My Page, then Manage Login.
NC's account services down. On October 13 NC paused new account sign-ups for 30 minutes while its platform services were under maintenance. When logins fail for many players at once, look at NC's notices before changing anything on your PC.

3. Then check your PC
These are general steps for any online game, not NC instructions:
- Close Steam or PURPLE completely and start it again, so it picks up the latest game update.
- On Steam, run Verify integrity of game files (right-click AION 2, Properties, Installed Files).
- Turn off any VPN or proxy, and allow AION 2 and its launcher through your firewall and antivirus.
- If you are on Wi-Fi, try a wired connection or restart your router.
Still on the launcher screen? Make sure your PC meets NC's specs with the AION 2 PC spec check, and that you installed the global version from Steam or PURPLE, as in how to download AION 2.
AION 2 login FAQ
