Are AION 2 classes gender-locked?

No class is locked to a gender: all eight can be male or female, on either side. Eight classes, two factions and two genders make 32 combinations.

AION 2 Character Creation: Every Choice

AION 2 character creation, step by step

Pick a region and a server. Choose the region you play from (NA East, NA West, Latin America, Europe or Asia), then a server. Each server holds one faction, so the server you pick also fixes which side you can play there.
Choose Elyos or Asmodian. Every class can be made on either side, so the faction does not limit your class. Each Elyos server is paired with one Asmodian server, and you meet the other side in the Abyss and the Spacetime Rifts.
Choose one of the eight classes. Gladiator, Templar, Assassin, Ranger, Chanter, Cleric, Sorcerer or Spiritmaster. Each class has its own weapon type, and only that class can equip it.
Choose male or female. No class is locked to a gender: all eight can be male or female, on either side. Eight classes, two factions and two genders make 32 combinations.
Shape the face, hair and body. Looks you save go into My Appearances, and looks you download from other players into your Download Library; both stay with the character, even through a server transfer. Players can also share their looks in the Style Shop, where others download and apply them.
Pick a name. A name can only be used once per server. A character moved to another server gets a temporary name and picks a new one at its next login, and cannot keep its old name if someone there already has it.

Elyos or Asmodian?

Every class can be made on either side, so the faction does not limit your class. Each Elyos server is paired with one Asmodian server, and you meet the other side in the Abyss and the Spacetime Rifts. Choose the region you play from (NA East, NA West, Latin America, Europe or Asia), then a server. Each server holds one faction, so the server you pick also fixes which side you can play there. So the real question is which server your friends are on: check the AION 2 server list for every server and its partner.

Character slots and names

Character slots count per server. Extra slots you buy stay on that server; during a server transfer, each slot the new server is missing costs 1,000 Quna.

Changing your look later

On October 5, 2026 NC gave every player a Customization Voucher (Bound) to change their character's skins: press ESC, then Closet.
NC changed the Founder's Pack cosmetics so they can be used on every character on your account, on any server, not just one.
Characters from the Korean or Taiwanese versions do not carry over; everyone starts fresh in the global version.
