S counts 3, A 2, B 1 and C 0; an average of 2.5 or more is S, 1.75 or more is A. The list by role rates tanks, healers and damage dealers apart; each class counts at its best role there. Each class name opens its level-45 build.
The healer and the tank rank high in PvE because every group needs them: the Cleric is close to a must for hard dungeons and the Templar is the main tank, even though the Cleric deals the least damage of all eight.

Beyond the tiers: what each class is good at
PvP depends on the kind of fight, and some classes stand out in ways a tier does not show:
- Assassin: The strongest class for solo and one-on-one PvP: stealth lets it choose when to start and leave a fight.
- Gladiator: Top tier in solo and one-on-one PvP.
- Templar: It holds up well in solo and one-on-one PvP: it is very hard to kill and has plenty of crowd control, though it cannot finish fights as fast as the damage dealers.
- Gladiator and Assassin: Weak in large-scale PvP such as Abyss sieges: melee damage dealers struggle to reach the fight without being wiped out.
- Ranger, Sorcerer and Spiritmaster: Ranged classes do best in large-scale PvP such as Abyss sieges, because they can deal damage from a safe distance.
- Cleric: Every group wants a Cleric: it is the game's main healer and close to a must for hard dungeons.
- Templar: The Templar is the main tank: no class holds a boss's attention better.
- Chanter: Built well, it deals damage close to a damage dealer while it supports the group.
- Cleric: It deals the least damage of all eight classes. That is expected: its job is keeping the group alive.
How to use this tier list
Tier lists from October 2026 are early: the global version is weeks old and NC patches classes. A class one tier lower is still fine to play, and every class lands in S or A in at least one list. Pick the role you enjoy, then follow its build: each class has one in AION 2 builds for every class. To choose by play style instead, use the quiz in the AION 2 classes overview.
How we made this
We copied each published list's tiers as they were on the date shown and averaged them; we did not move any class ourselves. Checked on October 24, 2026.

- What is the best class in AION 2?
- For PvE, the published tier lists put Chanter, Templar and Cleric on top when you average them. For PvP, Gladiator, Assassin and Ranger come out on top. No class is bad: every class lands in S or A in at least one list.
- What is the best PvE class in AION 2?
- Chanter: 4 of the 5 PvE lists we combined put it in S tier. Templar and Cleric also average out at S.
- What is the best PvP class in AION 2?
- Gladiator, Assassin and Ranger: both PvP lists we combined put them at or near the top, and the Assassin and the Gladiator are the strongest in one-on-one fights.
