AION 2 Sorcerer Build: PvE and PvP

The Sorcerer build at a glance

Both builds spend exactly the 203 Skill Points and 29 Stigma Shard points a character earns by level 45. Skills not listed stay at level 1. Each button opens the build in our skill builder, where you can change any level.

Why some skills stop at 7: levels 2 to 4 cost 1 Skill Point each, 5 to 7 cost 2 and 8 to 10 cost 4, so a skill at 7 costs 9 points and the last three levels cost 12 more. Wisdom Stones add points on top of the 203; spend them on the next skill in the list below. Daevanion nodes and gear add levels beyond the 10 that Skill Points buy.

Sorcerer skill priority

In the order to raise them. Next to each skill: how many of 60 level-45 Sorcerers in NC's own character data have it on their skill bar.

1. Firestorm to 10, Blaze to 10 and Hellfire to 10 (on the bar: 60 of 60, 60 of 60, 60 of 60). Your damage core. Blaze needs Fire Mark on the target; charge Hellfire fully, best on a target that stands still.
2. Flame Arrow to 10 (on the bar: 60 of 60). Your basic spell. In target mode it keeps casting between skills and refills your mana.
3. Wish of Concentration to 10 (on the bar: 60 of 60). Its skill level 16 specialty takes 10 seconds off all your cooldowns.
4. Bittercold Wind to 10 (on the bar: 60 of 60). Its PvE specialty ignores Block and Evasion and always crits.
5. Winter's Shackles to 10 (on the bar: 60 of 60). Holds the target in place to stretch a damage window.
6. Ice Chain to 5 (on the bar: 55 of 60). Your area spell for packs. It gets the last 5 points.

Passives. Fire Mark and Robe of Flame to 10, then Grace of Enhancement to 7.

Sorcerer Stigmas

Stigma slots open at levels 22, 27, 32 and 37. Learning a Stigma costs 1 shard point; the 29 points you have at 45 cover four Stigmas at these levels:

• Element Enhancement first, all the way to 10, where it works with Robe of Flame.
• Fire Wall and Cold Storm go down where the boss will stay.
• Delayed Explosion replaces Steel Barrier once you play in groups; its next steps are at levels 10, 15 and 20.

Keep Steel Barrier in place of Delayed Explosion while you level alone: the Sorcerer has no heal to fall back on.

Daevanion boards

The boards add stats, and some of their nodes add a level to a skill. Take the +1 nodes for Hellfire, Blaze, Flame Arrow and Firestorm first: nearly every top Sorcerer does. Aim for Firestorm at skill level 12 and Wish of Concentration and Blaze at 16, where their key specialties open.

• Nezekan, level 12: Combat Speed and Cooldown Reduction.
• Zikel, level 20: Damage Boost and Damage Tolerance.
• Vaizel, level 30: Critical Damage Boost and Critical Damage Tolerance.
• Triniel, level 40: Multi-Hit Chance and Multi-Hit Resist.
• Azphel, level 45: PvP stats only.
• Ariel, added in NC's October 20 patch, fills from Ariel Fragments earned in the Hard mode of Krao Cave and Draupnir (item level 2600).

Sorcerer rotation

1. Get in position, then Element Enhancement.
2. Delayed Explosion on the boss.
3. Fire Wall and Cold Storm where the boss will stay.
4. A fully charged Hellfire if the boss stands still.
5. Bittercold Wind, Blaze once Fire Mark is on, then Firestorm.
6. Winter's Shackles to stretch the window, and Flame Arrow in every gap.

Macro. A simple boss macro is Blaze then Firestorm. Keep Hellfire, Wish of Concentration, the Stigma buffs, the ground spells and Steel Barrier on their own keys.

Sorcerer PvP build

The PvP build keeps the same core and changes the rest: Ice Chain, Frost and Frost Burst go to 10, and Steel Barrier and Curse: Tree take over Stigma slots. The full list is in the table at the top.

• Frost and Frost Burst go to 10, and Steel Barrier comes back.
• Take the mobile-casting specialties on Hellfire and Bittercold Wind, so you can cast while you move.
• For the Arena, you can add Soul Freeze and Hibernation, which makes you immune for 5 seconds.

Most builds level the fire spells first; some level ice first while questing. Wish of Concentration is maxed in some builds and left at 7 in others.

We do not play-test builds ourselves. Every pick is checked against NC's own Character Info: 60 level-45 Sorcerers across NA West, NA East and Europe, and what each one has on the skill bar.
